The long-tailed game bird that is found in tropical and subtropical forests is quite large in size. They are mostly spotted high up in trees or flying through the forest canopy. Due to the threat of hunting, these birds are usually not found in areas near human settlements. They are generally seen in pairs or small groups and are quite alert. The color of their feathers is dark and often appears blackish; however, they have a bright red throat wattle, and their bodies have white streaking that can be seen at close range. Their crest is bushy, but it is not a noticeable feature.
